What is RefWorks?

RefWorks is an online bibliographic management tool provided through UW Oshkosh. With RefWorks, you can automatically export citations from databases like Academic Search Complete, WorldCat, and websites, then automatically generate bibliographies and in-text citations in over 1,000 continuously updated styles such as APA, MLA, Chicago, and more.


RefWorks is available for current students, staff and faculty. To sign in to your RefWorks account, click here, or click on Accounts on the library homepage to sign in.

APA Style Website

The official website of APA Style is the home of updated 7th edition content, including guidelines for grammar, paper formatting, bias-free language, in-text citations, and references. Sample papers are available.

Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL) APA Formatting and Style Guide 

The Purdue OWL site is a comprehensive APA 7th edition reference tool. The site has examples for in-text citations and references for a wide variety of source types, as well as an APA sample paper. The 6th edition archive is available as well. 


This is a comprehensive resource that lists sample APA citations in numerous frequently used business databases and resources.

APA Style references require the use of a DOI, or digital object identifier, for online scholarly articles if one is assigned. will enable you to look up an article by its title to find the DOI, if it has one. Click the "Search Metadata" tab on the Crossref homepage to search for your article title.

CMOS Shop Talk Blog 

CMOS Shop Talk is the official blog of the Chicago Manual of Style. It includes many useful resources for students, including paper formatting tip sheets, Chicago Style basics, and a Turabian citation quick guide.
